What we do

We give people a simpler way to look for a loan. Instead of applying to lenders one at a time, you complete a single form and we search our panel of FCA authorised lenders for options that may suit your circumstances. You can borrow from £100 to £5,000, with repayment terms typically from 3 to 36 months. The amount and the rate you are offered are always set by the lender, never by us.

How it works

  1. Tell us what you need. Choose how much you want to borrow and over how long.
  2. We search our panel. We run a soft search and match your details to lenders who may be able to help. A soft search leaves no mark on your credit file and only you can see it.
  3. You review your options. If a lender can make an offer, you decide whether to go ahead. There is no obligation.
  4. The lender completes your loan. If you proceed, the lender carries out its own full credit and affordability checks and, if approved, pays the money to you.

How we work

Free to use

Our service is completely free for you to use. We never charge you for searching our panel or for being matched with a lender. We may receive a commission from a lender or partner broker if you go on to take out a loan, which never changes the amount you pay. Your cost is set by your lender and shown in full before you agree to anything.

A soft search first

When you check your options through Dot Dot Loans, only a soft search is carried out. It does not affect your credit score and is not visible to other lenders. A hard search, which other lenders can see, only happens if you choose to proceed with a lender. We never run hard credit checks ourselves.

Lending responsibly

We only work with lenders authorised and regulated by the FCA. Borrowing should always be affordable, so only borrow what you can comfortably repay. Being matched with a lender does not guarantee approval. If you are worried about money, free help is available from MoneyHelper, and you can read our responsible lending page.

Frequently asked questions

Who can apply for a loan through Dot Dot Loans?

You must be a UK resident aged 18 or over with a current bank account in your name to use our service. Dot Dot Loans is a credit broker; we share your details with lenders on our panel, and each lender will assess your application independently and decide whether to offer you a loan. Meeting the basic criteria does not guarantee approval.

Do you perform credit checks?

Dot Dot Loans does not carry out hard credit checks. When you use our service, lenders on our panel may carry out a soft credit search to help assess your eligibility, which will not affect your credit score. If you choose to proceed with a lender, they will perform a full hard credit check as part of their application process.

How much can I borrow?

The amount you may be offered depends entirely on the individual lender and your personal circumstances. Lenders on our panel typically consider short-term loans from £100 up to £5,000, but approval and loan amounts are subject to their own affordability checks and criteria. Dot Dot Loans is a credit broker and does not decide how much you can borrow.

Can people with a bad credit score get a loan?

Some lenders may consider applications from people with poor or limited credit histories, but approval is never guaranteed and depends on the lender's individual checks and affordability criteria. Dot Dot Loans is a credit broker; we pass your details to lenders on our panel who make their own independent lending decisions.

Are there any hidden charges or fees?

No. Dot Dot Loans is a free-to-use credit broker and we never charge you for our service. If you choose to take out a loan, you will only repay the lender according to the terms set out in your loan agreement.

Will applying affect my credit score?

Checking your eligibility through Dot Dot Loans will not affect your credit score because lenders only carry out a soft credit search at this stage. If you choose to proceed with a lender and submit a full application on their website, they will perform a hard credit check, which may be recorded on your credit file.

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. Dot Dot Loans takes data protection seriously and uses secure systems to protect your personal information. Your details are only shared with lenders and relevant regulated partners for the purpose of processing your enquiry, in line with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection laws.

How long does it take to receive the funds?

If a lender approves your application and you choose to proceed, some lenders may send funds on the same day. Transfer times vary by lender and bank, and are not guaranteed.
